Medicare

We can see patients who have Medicare. We do NOT participate with Medicare (just like we don’t participate with any insurance plans), but those with Medicare can see us on a private-pay basis. That means they pay us directly. Our services are NOT reimbursable by Medicare. Services performed by other facilities (labs, XRays, specialists) are still covered the way they normally would be covered.

New patients with Medicare are required to sign a private-pay agreement in order to be seen in our office.

Why would someone with Medicare want to privately pay us for services that would otherwise be covered by Medicare? We have many patients who have insurance coverage who choose to come see us; they enjoy things like not having to wait forever in the waiting room, having unhurried appointments, and getting personalized attention. We know that those with Medicare have difficulty getting access to medical care and even more difficulty getting good care. Our goal at Simple Traditions Family Health is to give our patients time and personal attention while providing excellent and affordable care.

It is important to note that, while we can order labs, XRays, tests, and specialty referrals, we do not perform prior authorizations. It is the patient’s responsibility to ensure coverage of services if coverage is desired.

Note:  The above applies specifically to those who have Medicare Part B.  (Parts A and D of Medicare do not relate to the services we provide in our office.)
