Nurse Visit

A Nurse Visit is a low-cost alternative to a regular appointment with the doctor or physician assistant (Office Visit).  It is appropriate for simple or straightforward problems that don't require a detailed evaluation by the doctor.  Some examples include:

  • Audiograms--for children 4 y/o and up and for adults
  • Strep throat testing (age 3 y/o and up)
  • Urinary tract infection (age 5 y/o and up)
  • Ear wax removal
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Removal of stitches or staples
  • Dressing changes
  • STD screening (see details here)
  • Birth control injection ("Depo shot")
  • Health Screen
  • Vaccines
  • Testing for TB
  • Vaccine antibody titers (such as for MMR, varicella)
  • Height/weight checks for children
  • Newborn screen ("PKU")
  • Lab draws for labs ordered by doctor (can be order from another physician)
  • ...and more

A patient coming in for a Nurse Visit will be seen by the medical assistant, who will review everything with the physician or physician assistant.

Nurse visits do not require appointments, but an appointment is best.  If you are an established patient, go to Online Scheduling.  Or you can call us.

For Nurse Visits, please arrive at least one hour before our closing time.
